H.O.P.E. Animal Shelter Fees
Our adoption fees include current vaccinations and worming for both dogs and cats. All adult cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV.
H.O.P.E. ADOPTION PROCEDURES
HOPE's adoption policy is an effort to better serve potential adopters and the animals in our care. Our intention is not to make our adoption process more difficult, but rather to provide a better match for potential owners and the dog or cat they are seeking. A printable copy of our new adoption application is available here. If you wish, you can fill out the application and return it to us via mail, email or in person. Please allow 1 - 2 days for your application to be processed. DO NOT expect an application and adoption to take place the same day.
Adoption Fees:
Cats: $25 plus $25*
Cats(Fixed): $45
Kittens: $5 plus $25*
Dogs/Puppies: $40 plus $25*
Dogs(Fixed): $55
*Unaltered animals require a mandatory $25 deposit that is refunded upon proof of spaying/neutering.
Surrender Fees: $60 per animal contingent on available space. Please call ahead to inquire if we have kennel or cage space available before surrendering your pet. We can only accept pets from Gogebic & Iron Counties. We cannot accept pets known to have aggressive behaviors, including feral (wild) cats. We will do our very best to accomodate your surrender requests, but our space is limited and State of Michigan regulations forbid us from taking in more animals than can be adequately housed.
Reclaim Fees: $10 per day. After 5 days, all unclaimed animals become the property of HOPE Animal Shelter and are put up for adoption. Proof of rabies vaccination is required to reclaim your pet.
